The annual Auction for Education is our largest fundraising event of the year and also serves as an opportunity to raise awareness about women's empowerment and education. It brings together S4Si’s many supporters for an evening to celebrate our scholars’ achievements and to reflect on our organization’s efforts throughout the past year. This is always a wonderful opportunity for members of the community to sit down with the students who manage S4Si.
We are excited to host Mr. Derreck Kayongo, Advocacy Field Coordinator for the Southeast Region of CARE International, as this year's keynote speaker. In the past, Mr. Kayongo has worked with the Congressional Hunger Center and Amnesty International USA. He is also the founder of the Global Soap Project.
Our internationally-themed auction items come from Tanzania, Ghana, Australia, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, India, Ireland, Singapore, Taiwan, Rwanda, and several other countries. There will also be basketball memorabilia and other wonderful items. Check out our Auction Item Preview!
Dinner will be provided by Palace International , a Durham-based restaurant that serves delicious, authentic East African cuisine.
