Auction for Education Raises $8,000 for Scholars

By all accounts, the Students for Students International 5th annual Acution for Education was a huge success. Despite the rainy weather, turn out was high as was the enthusiasm to support our Scholars.

The evening began with a bountiful buffet of African cuisine, catered by Palace International of Durham and dessert provided by ViaTheBistro of Chapel Hill. During dinner, guests listened to presentations by Executive Director Matthew Garza and keynote speaker Dr. Chris Kigongo. Katherine Novinski and Bryanna Schwartz also gave attendees insight into their experiences during their summer spent interviewing the new Scholars in Zanzibar.

By the end of the evening, guests had donated over $8,000 to support Students for Students International.
