S4Si is pleased to announce Bryanna Schwartz as our new Executive Director for the 2010-2011 school year.
Bryanna is a junior Biology major from San Diego, California. She spent the summer of 2008 in Zanzibar, Tanzania selecting scholars and working to improve the scholarship. Last year she interned with Africare, focusing primarily on water sanitation projects in Uganda.
Her time in S4Si and abroad has made her very interested and passionate about women's education, international development and public health. Outside of S4Si, Bryanna has volunteered at UNC's Hospital and worked in Student Government. Bryanna plans to pursue a career in public health and medicine. She is excited to work with the directors and members of S4Si to find more ways to support our
scholars.
When a girl in the developing world has received seven or more years of education, she marries four years later and has 2.2 fewer children.
