Campus Efforts

To raise money for our programs, S4Si engages students, staff, and faculty at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Throughout the year our members plan and organize such events as dance lessons, video game tournaments, and ice cream socials. We clean up the stadiums after games and time swim meets. We sell t-shirts and volunteer at garage sales. No matter what it takes to fund our Scholars, we are committed to doing it.

Our largest fundraiser, the annual Auction for Education, brings together hundreds of people from on campus, across the state and beyond for an evening to celebrate of our Scholars’ achievements. To learn more, click here.

Beyond fundraising, campus education about our Scholars and the lives they lead is central to what we do. Through lectures, panels, and workshops we strive to engage the issues which touch our Scholars: education, gender, East African development, and Islam. Often times this work is done in conjunction with the Center for African Studies and the Muslim Students Association.
