S4Si began its work in Zimbabwe and worked there exclusively for ten years. The belief system then was the same as it is now: identify outstanding but underprivileged students who would most benefit from access to higher education. Over the years we helped dozens of students graduate from high school and college, all of whom have gone on to become leaders in their own right. The experience we gained in those years certainly informs our efforts today.
Unfortunately, due to political instability and hyperinflation in Zimbabwe, we have begun a temporary suspension of this scholarship program. While we are wholly committed to beginning the program again, we must wait until the government and economy settle down.
